André Charlot Papers, 1910-1945

André Charlot (1882-1956) was a press manager, business manager, and manager of various Parisian theaters and music halls, including the Folies-Bergères and Châtelet. In 1912, he was appointed joint manager of the Alhambra in London, and was managing director of that theater until 1915. He also broadcast 50 shows of for the BBC before relocating to California in 1937 where he worked briefly as a technical adviser to Paramount Pictures and acted in films (1942-1956). The collection consists of scripts, sheet music, photographs, programs, and business papers related to Charlot's career as a producer for the London stage. Charlot's Hour
